How can I access the Bingham Collection?

Professor Jane M. Bingham, a retired education professor at Oakland University, is an expert on children's literature. She amassed this collection of historic children's books, periodicals, and artifacts over a number of years. The collection is non-circulating. The books are arranged in chronological order so that researchers can see how children's books developed over the decades. The collection also includes a section of reference books related to children's literature.

To search the catalog and peruse the Bingham Collection online, search in Library OneSearch; on the results page, select the All filters option, and find the Location option in the list:

From the Library Location option, select the Bingham Collection option and click the Apply button:

Your search results will then reflect the items in the Bingham Collection:

The Bingham Collection is located in the southwest wing of Kresge Library's second floor (main floor). Patrons will need a key to access the collection. The Key can be requested in-person at the Service Desk (second floor of Kresge Library).
