Cited Reference Searching Tools
There are several methods for doing cited reference searching. The option(s) you choose will depend on your discipline and where the journals you published in are indexed. There are limitations inherent to each method, so typically authors need to combine methods to get the best results.
TOOLS:

Scopus - Contains tools that track, analyze and visualize scholarly work.

Journal Citation Reports (JCR) - Provides citation data on journals and includes virtually all areas of science, technology, and social sciences. The OU community has access to the Science edition and the Social Sciences edition of JCR.

Web of Science - Web of Knowledge provides access to Science Citation Index (SCI), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and Arts and Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI). These indexes contain references that have been cited in other articles. You can use these citations to perform cited reference searches.

Google Scholar - the citation report shows citation count, h-index and links. This is not an exhaustive list-- it only includes those journals indexed by Google Scholar. Setting up a My Citations profile allows you to track your citations and links to articles that cited your work. (See Associate Professor Lombardo's Google profile page for an example.)
