What kinds of rare books does OU Libraries have?

Answer

Special Collections maintains a small collection of rare books. The collection includes first or limited editions and inscribed copies in 17th-20th-century American and British literature, as well as in 16th-20th -century English and European history.

The Rare Book collection contains approximately 3,000 rare books, pamphlets, and periodicals. The collection is particularly strong on Michigan and local history, as well as 19th-century American and British literature. Some items are inscribed, and others have special significance to OU or Oakland County history. For more information on our special collections, click here.
